Loon Mountain March, 2019

With the success of our first event at Loon Mountain a year prior, we had high expectations for our second event, but mother nature had a different agenda and rained on our parade. Nothing unusual for an March day on the East Coast and the New Hampshire buzzards didn’t seem to care. Clothed in trash bags, riders weathered the storm with a smile on their face and even though the forecast scared away some of the competition, we had some amazing riding from the local legends. Thanks to Vans and our other supporters, our afterparty was where things warmed up. We raffled off a Joel Tudor surfboard, Christian Hosoi Hammerhead and a Steve Van Doren signed guitar among many more. Thanks again to the incredible Lin-Wood skatepark committee and the supportive community, we ended the day raising over $14,000 towards the soon to be built skatepark! We look forward to the completion of the park and getting to skate it soon!

Sierra At Tahoe March, 2019

After the success of Methodology’s first season, we wanted to spread the love to other areas and support communities outside of our own. Lake Tahoe has been an epicenter of snowboarding since the beginning days of snowboarding’s progression. Many legendary riders hailed from the Tahoe area such as Noah Salsnek (RIP), Chris Roach, Tom Burt, and Shawn Palmer, to name a few. With Tahoe being such an important part of our culture, Methodology thought it a great location for a third event. Sierra At Tahoe welcomed us and the incredible Revert Foundation, created by Chris Roach and his family, was set as the beneficiary. The Revert Foundation has made it it’s mission to offer foster children and at-risk youth an introduction to snowboarding, a mission that speaks to every snowboarder out there who was lucky enough to find their way. The event was blessed with near perfect weather and the locals like Denver Orr went off.

Brighton Resort December, 2018

After the debut of Methodology at Brighton Resort in 2017, we wanted to give the Utah community additional resources to spread the knowledge of avalanche safety. With 2017’s donation of an avalanche training area facilitated by Brighton Resort, the stage was set to further educate the local riders. With the funds from the 2018 event, Methodology worked with the Utah Avalanche Center to offer nearly 150 free avalanche safety classes. These classes were not only 100% filled but were also heavily utilized by the participants of the Methodology event. Thanks to the support of the Utah Avalanche Center, these classes helped advance the Brighton community overall to be safer with their great snow.

Loon Mountain March, 2018

The original concepts of Methodology’s mission was initiated by discussions with the staff at Loon Mountain. Their ability to host events along with their support of Lincoln’s local community was the formula that Methodology has strived to replicate. Our first stop at Loon in 2018 blew the ceiling off our expectations and laid the foundation of how Methodology events are run. The New Hampshire community came together to support their own and the Lin-Wood Skatepark Committee went above and beyond to host a legendary fundraiser. For the Methodology crew, this stop is where the lights turned on and we truly noticed what was possible.

Brighton Resort December, 2017

Seems like a lifetime ago, but Methodology’s first event was hosted by Brighton Resort just two years ago. This event was the kickoff of our ambitions to create a fun and inclusive gathering, testing our ability to pull it off. Being it our first event, things were hectic, but with the help of so many of the participants and local volunteers, we successfully ran the event and raised enough money to buy the equipment for an avalanche training area at Brighton Resort.
